Students making satisfactory progress in academic, research and teaching pursuits receive full financial support including tuition fellowships or waivers and a 12 month stipend. These are all unrestricted as to the nationality of the recipient. Our current (2010-2011) twelve month stipend level is $29,067 (including support for the summer). This is an amount that has increased every year over the past five years and is likely to do so again in future years. For qualified U.S. nationals, support is also available at the same levels from an NIH Training Grant or from fellowships from the Cornell Plant Cell and Molecular Biology Program.
Tuition is paid by traineeships, fellowships, or teaching or research assistantships. The costs of books and thesis preparation are additional.
The graduate program also pays the complete cost of individual student health insurance. Supplemental family health insurance, dental and vision insurance is also available for the students to purchase.
Approved housing is offered both on and off campus for single and married graduate students.
