Kwak lab publishes a paper titled "Systematic characterization of stress induced RNA granulation" with a cover illustration in the April 2018 issue of Molecular Cell, in collaboration with Jun Hee Lee lab in University of Michigan. In this paper, they identified specific mRNAs that are packaged into phase-separated cytoplasmic RNA granules in under cell stress. They found that these packed-away mRNAs are enriched with genes playing roles in cell survival and cancer.
"Rudd and Grimson’s major goal is to identify the key gene regulatory networks that underlie the differences between neonatal and adult CD8+ T cells, with an eye toward understanding how age-related differences could be exploited to improve infant immunity."
